This past week...
Jul. 27th, 2025 10:52 pmIt's been a while since I've made back-to-back posts. I feel like inconsistencies tend to happen in the summertime - I even forgot to track my goals for a few days last week. Hopefully I can turn that ship around soon.
Well, Monday started with my foot still in bad shape, and by the end of the day it had gotten even worse, so off to the clinic I went. The doc sent me for x-rays to check for stress fractures, and I should get the results in the next couple days. In the meantime, the swelling and discolouration have decreased a lot, and my walking has improved, so that's a good trend. But I still won't be running again for a while yet.
I had been toying with the idea of joining a gym again recently, and since I've been off my feet and the pounds have started creeping back on, I decided to pull the trigger. I've been a couple times now, and even with starting things off slow and easy, I'm feeling the stiffness and soreness that comes along with new exercise routines. The next hurdle will be changing my daily morning routines to be able to get to the gym before work.
I had Friday off, and I was able to break down the weekend chores into manageable chunks for each day, which gave me some time for relaxing and a few social things. I had a great lunch with my good friend and her boyfriend Friday, there was a surprise birthday party for one of my run club friends on Saturday, and today we had my MIL over for a family dinner. Unfortunately I had to decline an invitation to another outing for today, but with everything else there just wasn't time to fit it in. All in all it was a decent weekend.
Time now for some sleep - gotta be fresh when I hit the gym. Have a good night, and a good week ahead. =]
