Almost fell asleep without getting my Sunday computer stuff done. My goals fell off further this week - I can't afford to add that to the list of missed items.

I had my 5K race this morning. It was my first actual race in almost a decade, and I had long forgotten what the experience was like. There was a large contingent from my run club there and we all made sure to be encouraging to each other. I finished in 28:47 - one second faster than my previous best time for a 5K, which I was extremely happy about. Many others in our group also had personal bests, which was great to see. My next race is in May, and that promises to be a fun event as well.

I did less hiding from adulthood this week (not a lot less, but still less). I had to get an exterminator in because we started getting ants coming into the house through the garage. As much as I don't like dealing with stuff like that (or paying for it either), this was something I definitely couldn't procrastinate on. It did mess up much of my Friday, but fortunately my good friend and I were able to arrange to have lunch on Thursday instead, and it turned out to be a wonderful meal (probably the best I've had at this particular restaurant).

Work is pretty much the same. I'm still at the point where I'd like to walk away and start fresh, but honestly, I make too much and have too many perks that nobody really knows about. I watch job boards to see what's being posted, and right now there's a job that I think I'd be excellent at, but there's no way we could afford for me to voluntarily take a 40% pay cut right now. And so someone else will get hired, and I'll just continue to muddle along doing what I do.

I don't think I mentioned that I finally finished my blanket project. It turned out really well, although during the last stages I thought of at least a half dozen ways I could have made it better. Since finishing that, I've started on a new puzzle. I have quite a bit completed, but what I have left is basically two sections of plain colour (no patterns at all), and the pieces are all similar in shape. I anticipate a considerable amount of time getting the rest done.

And dammit - I just realized that I forgot to do my monthly goals recap again. It's too late do it tonight, so I'll have to find some time this week to get caught up.

Well, it's been a long day and I need some sleep. Have a wonderful and enjoyable week, and I'll see you again soon. =]

Congratulations on finishing the blanket!

Also auuugh the job situation. Wishing you as much endurance as you need, and a little spare.

Yay, congrats to you and your fellow run club members! Glad you enjoyed and did well in your race! :D

Uuugh re: the work situation. It sucks that people have to be ready and able to start over almost completely as far as pay and benefits go in order to find a situation more amenable to them. I hope things improve for you somehow on this front! *hugs*

Congrats also on finishing the blanket! Even if you do feel like you could've done better, I'm sure it's lovely. And good luck on the puzzle!
