A bone to pick...
Jun. 8th, 2023 09:40 pmI know a lot of folks here use Duolingo. Something has been striking me as odd for a couple of months now, and I think I've finally put my finger on it.
Anybody notice that they aren't getting congratulatory messages from any of their Duolingo friends lately? Because I haven't. Not a peep. Oh I get prompts to send out congrats to everyone else, but nothing in return. Well here's what I think...
Everyone I follow has the paid version. I don't. I'm wondering if, along with the last "upgrade", they also made it so you only get peer support if you have the paid version.
I just hit a streak milestone on the weekend - 1000 days. A couple of high-fives would have been nice, but I shouldn't have to pay to get them. =\
Edit: I've talked with a friend of mine (real human, not just online avatar), and I think the upshot is that I may just be experiencing some glitchiness with the app. In other words, *NOT* a Duolingo conspiracy to coerce me into spending money. Good that it's a glitch, bad that my mind instantly goes to conspiracy.
