Well, if I were Rob Thomas, I’d continue singing that “I must be lonely”. However, this is not a Matchbox 20 reunion tour, it’s my real life - so the line is now:
It’s three a.m. and I must be wide awake.
One of the usual culprits? Insomnia, headache, stress, irregular sleep pattern? Well, yes actually, now that I think about it I have all of those. But this time they’re the effects, not the cause. No, the cause this time is the first thunderstorm of the season - more specifically, the dog going through her first panic attack of the season because of it.
She’s been a ball of nervous energy for hours now. Won’t sleep, won’t sit still, won’t listen. For us humans, trying to sleep is a waste of time. As the one who’s system is somewhat used to operating on minimal sleep, I’m the “lucky” one that gets to stay up with her. By the looks of the forecast, the storm should end right around the time my alarm goes off for me to get up for work. So no sleep for me tonight.
Might as well wander around DW and find something to read - I got lots of time to kill. =[
