I enjoy participating in the sport of curling. For those who don’t know it, it’s basically shuffleboard on ice (we Canucks love to take things that don’t belong on ice, and do it on ice). As with most things that involve groups of people, we’ve been sidelined the past season+.  However, also as with most things we’ve started up again a couple weeks ago. Even with some added regulations revolving around social distancing, etc, it’s still really great to be back out there again. Finally seeing a bunch of old friends, and meeting many new people as well. It’s been a fun couple of weeks.

But… (why is there always a “but”?)

I have had tendinitis in both shoulders for many years. Prior to the Covid hiatus, I was curling twice a week, and the pain had gotten so bad that I had to invest in a shoulder brace to help me get through the games (yes, I’m the kind of idiot that keeps playing injured). The hiatus provided an extended period for recuperation, and after a few months I had forgotten all about my affliction. Well, two weeks in and I’m already starting to get some nagging aches that I thought were done with long ago.

So, tonight I’ll go on the hunt for that shoulder brace, and make sure I keep wearing it, and hopefully not fall back into the same predicament I was in before. =]
