This past week...

Well, this past week was decidedly less crappy than the one before, but there were still some things I'd like to see get better.
My cold finally subsided mid-week, and I'm very thankful that it didn't move into my chest (which would have added another two weeks of misery). I was able to ease back into some running and it's been feeling pretty good, so even though I didn't do enough to make my weekly goal, I'm still happy about where I'm at. Goals overall were low again, but a lot of that was due to still being sick at the start of the week. I'm not going to beat myself up over the last couple of weeks, but I am resolved to get back on track.
Work was fairly fine, with only some minor annoyances (the normal ones that crop up regularly). I do have one issue at work that I feel is becoming a problem, and to help correct it I'm adding a new goal starting this week. The acronym for it is WTF - Work 'Til Four. I've found myself taking advantage of my "self-managing" situation at work and leaving early far too often. My work ethic is much better than that, and just because I don't particularly like my job anymore doesn't mean I should be performing it at a lower level. So if I have to make it a goal in order to get my brain to cooperate, so be it.
The weekend hasn't been too bad, despite the weather (we lucked out and didn't get hit nearly as badly as was predicted). I took Friday off (first one of the year), and with a holiday tomorrow I ended up with a four-day weekend. I picked up sushi and brought it over to my good friend's place, and we had a nice relaxing lunch away from the noise of a restaurant - something we haven't done in quite a long time. Curling was ok - we lost, but the game never really got out of hand. And with almost all of my chores out of the way, the plan for tomorrow is a very low-key day at home, and to get back to working on my blanket project from last year.
No bedtime tonight so I'm going to do a bit of research on new running shoes - my current ones are wearing out, and there's a big sale coming up at the local running store. So good night, and have a great week ahead. See you soon. =]
