This past week...
Nov. 16th, 2025 10:15 pmLots of things went on this week...
Work was once again fairly boring. It may sound like a good problem to have, but when it drags on for an extended period it kinda sucks. Even having a project to work on at the beginning of the week didn't help much. I do have a larger project to work on starting tomorrow, but that won't last forever, and I feel like by the end of the week I'll be in the same boat again.
I ended up working from home Monday and Tuesday as well. Monday the plant was down for a holiday (I'm corporate so I still had to work), and Tuesday I had a root canal. The appointment went well, and the freezing wore off in plenty of time to go to run club. Wednesday I had another appointment, this time for a new tattoo. My wife laughed at me later when I told her I made another appointment - she said "yeah, you're hooked now". However, now I've only got about three weeks to figure out what this new one is going to be.
Friday was a half day, and I went out for lunch with my good friend and her boyfriend. It had been a while since the three of us had gotten together, and it was a really good time. Friday was also curling night. We played a decent game except for one end when we gave up five points, and that ended up being too much of a hole to climb out of. So far I'm enjoying this season - it's much more relaxed and fun.
Saturday I got a lot of household projects done during the day, and then in the evening there was a run event that a ton of my running friends all went out for. It was the annual Santa Claus run in a nearby town, and the kickoff to their holiday light display. The run was a good one, and a lot of us got together afterward for some drinks and then dinner. Another enjoyable evening.
I've also been trying to keep up with going to the gym. I missed a couple days early in the week, but made up for one of them this morning. I also had a lot less food prep to do today, so it ended up being a more relaxing Sunday than I'm used to. And since I had dinner cooking in the slow cooker, and the temp outside was still decent, I was able to sneak in an extra run in the afternoon.
Well, it looks like I'm not going to get to bed quite on time, but I should wrap this up and start heading in that direction. Take care, and I'll see you again. =]
