These past weeks...
Nov. 2nd, 2025 09:55 pmWow. OK. It seems as though I've let an entire month go by without a proper weekly post. Not sure I should be surprised - I think I let quite a few things slide during the month of October (which should make for a fairly short post).
A lot of my focus last month was on prepping for and running the half marathon, and if you read my my post a couple weeks back you know that I was pretty happy with how everything turned out. Since then I did make a plan for the coming year - I decided to work towards breaking the 2-hour mark for a HM. I've already registered for my first for 2026 in early April, with three more to come (one more for the spring and two in the fall). I feel like that's going to be a big enough challenge, and I'll put off my first full marathon until 2027.
Now that I've made that decision, it's time to get off my ass and put the effort into it. I haven't been to the gym since September - that changes tomorrow morning. I spent some time putting together a weekly schedule that I think is workable, and now it's just a matter of turning it into a routine. I'll be losing one of my run clubs next week because curling is starting up, so having that time in the gym will be even more important.
Around the house I've gotten most of the fall things done. All the plants have been cut down and bundled for collection, the sprinkler system has been closed, most of the furniture has been put away, and just today I put the hard top on the Jeep. There's still some smaller items left to take care of, but the major things are out of the way.
Work has been fairly status quo. Another month end starts tomorrow, and physical counts for year end will be coming soon, so not everything will be rainbows and sunshine. But I'll get through it like always. Goals have been much the same as well, although that's not necessarily ok. I feel like I'm pretty much putting down the same thing day after day - the things I do I always do, and the things I miss I always miss. Maybe I have too many things, maybe I made them too restrictive, I don't know. I'll have to think it over, figure out where the issues are, and decide on a different plan of attack for next year.
Well, that's my story for today. I'll say goodnight, and since I'm making an effort to get things back on track in November, I'll also say see you next week. =]

Ahh, yeah, this is what I believe the kids today call a big mood. I hope you're able to find the right angle of approach to meet your missed goals! :)
