New Thing… Writing Stuff

I’ve lamented in the past about not making posts very often. I’ve gone so far as to question myself as to why that is. And yet, here it is with another 2.5 weeks behind me, and narry a peep.
So, I’ve decided to take a cue from so many others in DW, and start a weekly post. But what to write about? After some thought and reflection, I realized one of the things I wanted to do here right from the beginning was to try and learn to be more open about myself - especially things that aren’t negative. What I’ve settled on is to take one thing from my Interests list each week, and write something about it. Could be quick, could be pages. But it’s something.
Not sure when this will start, or what day I’ll of the week it’ll take place. For now I have a plan, and we’ll see how it plays out. =]

Date: 2021-06-21 06:20 am (UTC)Trying to decide if I should set a regular day each week, or make it something I do on nights like tonight when the insomnia has kicked in. Either way I should be starting some time in the coming week.
(BTW: I’m not going to “squee”. Even if the kids are still saying it, I’m certainly not a kid anymore. LOL)

Ha! Well, I won't hold that against you ;D

Date: 2021-06-22 04:00 am (UTC)I think I like the idea of using insomnia-nights to write since I need something quiet to do anyway, but then stick to one specific day of the week to post.
Any day but Thursday. As my namesake Mr. Dent so eloquently put it, “I never could get the hang of Thursdays”.

Date: 2021-06-30 11:42 am (UTC)I’ve seen your name here often enough, but I definitely didn’t realize the scope of your involvement. Organizational tools are certainly a benefit when you’re trying to keep track of so many things on a recurring basis. Should I expand my writings beyond this starting point, there are lots of good ideas in here that I can put into practice. For now the hard part will be just to remember to make my posts (thank you alarms on cell phones).
Some of your community-focused posts look interesting as well. I’ll be looking for them to check them out.

It typically takes at least a month to establish a new habit -- more if you're aiming for weekly rather than daily activities. I use a desktop calendar to write down post reminders. Electronic ones can be more active in soliciting your attention.
