Well, here we are for the first monthly goal review of 2025. It was a bit of a truncated month, since I didn't have my goals for the year set until midway through, but overall I think it went fairly well.
2025 Planner: Have my planner completely filled in by the end of the month.
>> I had this done several days before the end of the month. It's a relief too, because last year I started with just the first few months and it was a real pain to keep filling it in after that.
Weight under 200 pounds: This is my only specific weight goal for the year. I had hoped to get below 200 pounds by the end of 2024, but some personal issues in December got me off track and I came up 2.5 pounds short. I want those pounds gone!
>> Success! Came in at 199.0 - cleared the goal by a full pound. This was a great goal to have to kick off the year. Having a hard target really helped get me off the couch and back into my routine.
Sleep: Be in bed before midnight on work nights. Minimum of 5 hours every night.
>> So far this is going well, with no missed weeks.
Alcohol: Maximum of 1 drink when dining out. Maximum of 2 total drinks per day. (occasional "nights out" are exceptions)
>> No problems yet when dining out, but the 2/day max has been hard to stick to, with success in only one week. This is one I expect to struggle with before it starts getting better.
Hydration: Minimum of 3 glasses of water per day.
>> No issues with this one.
Home Leisure: Minimum of 2 days per week. (activities include puzzles, board games, reading, etc.)
>> I spent a lot of time completing my planner this month, and that ate most of the time I would have spent on this one. I did complete a puzzle though, so I did manage to meet this goal in one of the weeks.
Dishes: Load/run the machine a minimum of 3 times per week. Hand washing a minimum of once per week.
>> Completed every week.
Exercise: Minimum of 4 days per week.
>> Despite getting my self back into my routine, I did miss one week on this one. I was only short one day that week though, so it was still very close to a complete month.
Computer Tasks: Every week, day(s) TBD. (tasks include banking, weekly DW post, etc.)
>> Everything completed on time.
Haircut: Minimum of once per month.
>> Done.
Me Day: One day a month to recharge. Only requirement is zero chores. (stole this idea from a friend)
>> Didn't manage a me-day, but for a couple good reasons. One, I only had half a month to work with, and I had a lot of other things on the go. And two, I'm still not sure entirely how I'm going to go about doing this. Hopefully I can get that figured out soon so I can get it started in February.
Goal Review: Review the previous month and post the results in DW no later than the 3rd of the month.
>> Completed Feb 2.
Run Events: Participate in a minimum of 1 race event each quarter. I've already registered for:
Q1 - 5 km
Q2 - 5 km
Q3 - 1/2 marathon
Q4 - 1/2 marathon
>> First event isn't until early April.
Quarterly Activity: Experience something new. (in 2024, the sushi rolling class and the running club were great new experiences)
>> Nothing so far, but I do have my eye on a very interesting class that I hope will be offered again in February.
Fun Day: Basically, day trips. There are far too many fun and interesting things within a few hours of home - I'd like experience more of them.
>> Again, nothing yet. But these will need some advanced planning, so no worries at this point.
By the numbers, the month averaged out at 83%, so quite good overall. Looking forward to continued success in February. =]
