arthur_p_dentThe past week has continued to be not so shit-hot.
We had a small private service for my FIL on Thursday - my MIL needed her last image of him to be a peaceful one, and I sat with her and let her tell me stories that I've heard many times before so she could get some closure. Everyone seems to be doing well, at least outwardly. From a selfish perspective I'm glad of that, because it's very draining being the support for everyone else.
Friday curling was supposed to be a diversion, but I spent the first third of the game lost in my own thoughts. Fortunately my one fav person (I mentioned her a few weeks back when I played against her) was in the game right next to me, and she is just so upbeat and fun to talk to that I eventually got out of my funk long enough to concentrate and pull off another win. Unfortunately, those thoughts swept back in on me the next day, and have been following me around since. It is something I want to talk about, which I'll do in a separate post either tonight or tomorrow.
On the plus side, I have been making decent headway on my 2024 goals list. I won't get my planner fully prepared by the 15th like I wanted, but I have started tracking the new categories so I'm not too far off the pace. Before I get too deep into it I need to figure out how I'm going to track and quantify the results. I'll have a kick-off post coming soon as well.
I have a ton of stuff that I've been putting off that I'll need to take care of this weekend, which is going to eat most of my free time. But I am planning to start up my Fridays off again, and this week I'm absolutely taking a step away from everything so I can relax, and hopefully get my mind back on track.
