Ummm...???

 So something weird just happened.

I popped into FB, just to kill a few brain cells looking at today's batch of social media nonsense, and there was a friend request... from my ex.

"Ex" is a bit of a loose term - we dated for six months, and she broke up with me over the phone a week after my birthday. That was 25 years ago, and I haven't heard from her since until tonight. Naturally I'm curious as to why she's reaching out after all this time, but I'm also not really sure about opening a door that was closed half my lifetime ago.

Yeah, I very much understand both your caution and your curiosity. Such an odd situation! I think some people will just reach out to absolutely anyone they know on FB, tbh.

See, I get the "people I used to know" aspect of FB. Half of most peoples' friends list is family or friends they've lost touch with over the years, and they think becoming FB friends will help them reconnect. In some cases it works, but in most it's just a bigger list of people they don't interact with (I have plenty of those myself). But the thing is, we *literally* only knew each other for 6 months. We met through mutual friends, we dated for a bit, we broke up - that was the extent of it.

You are probably right though. Plus, I think if she was actually trying to contact me she would have sent something through messenger rather than a friend request.

Still weird though.
