You know, there's a story I've been meaning to tell for many many weeks now, but there always seems to be some other story that jumps the queue and gets told instead.

And today is no exception. =D

First, a review of my weekly goals. Looking back at February it was pretty rough, but so far March has been fairly decent. Three weeks in a row over 75% (82% this week), and this week had 5 of 7 categories with perfect marks! It's also the first time since late January that I've managed to meet my exercise goal of 4 days in the week. However, the fourth day was not on purpose - and that's where this week's story begins.

Last Friday following curling, one of the guys had a group over to play some poker in his newly-finished basement. It was a super-fun night (I even came out $10 ahead), and, as is common at such events, drinks were flowing. I had very little myself though, and I offered rides to anyone living nearby. One friend gladly accepted, and since she didn't live overly far, I offered to drive her home in her car and take a cab back for my own. Yup, I'm that kind of nice.

But I'm also that kind of dumb. After getting her home and settled I called for a cab. What I failed to consider, in my efforts of do-goodery, was just how impossible it would be to get a cab at 2:45 in the morning ON ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!! It only took about 45 seconds of the phone not being answered before I realized what I had done, and after literally kicking myself for my stupidity, I set off on foot to recover my car. Now it's only a 7 or 8 minute drive between houses, so I didn't think it would take all that long to get back, maybe 35 minutes at a brisk pace. Nope - 80 minutes. At least the weather was kind to me and I was well well-layered, so the walk was actually comfortable and pleasant. And, since it lasted longer than 30 minutes, it qualified as daily exercise for Saturday (bonus!).

Well folks, it's about that time. Bed is calling, and work is waiting for me in the morning. I hope you're all having a good week so far, and the coming weekend holds many fun things for you. So long until next week. =]

Wow, the universe really wanted you to have that fourth day of exercise!

Congrats on getting your percentages back up, especially in the full-mark categories :D
