Tuesday was a pretty good day all around. If you read my last post, I was having a fairly relaxing lunch break, work wasn't being overly terrible, and I was looking forward to my Wednesday afternoon off.

Then my wife texted me that she felt like she had the flu.
Then after work we tested her.
And sure enough - COVID.

She's doing ok. It's not hitting her any worse than a mild case of the flu, which is good news. I've self-tested the past three days and all have been negative, which is also good news. Hoping it passes without any long-term effects.

It did end up shifting around my Wednesday golf plans a bit. Naturally, all the things you want when you're sick - gingerale, saltines, cans of soup - were entirely vacant from the pantry, so I had to make a shopping trip and then throw some lunch together for her (the caregiver in me took over LOL). But after that I did manage to get out to the course, and even had a decent game.

Then someone from work called.
There was a customer-created crisis that had to be resolved immediately.
And sure enough, I was the only one who could take care of it after hours.

So rather than rounding out the day with some spicy wings and frosty beers, back home I trod to spend a couple hours in front of the computer. It's part of the job, and I usually don't have an issue dealing with things like that, but when it's entirely the result of someone else's negligence, I get kinda cheesed off.

So a bit of a mixed bag this week, but not terrible. Hopefully yours is going well (even a bit better).

Oof. Sorry to hear about your wife and I hope she's able to shake it without any serious symptoms developing or long-term side effects setting in. Fingers crossed that you're able to avoid it, took, while still supporting her recovery. Also too bad that you had to cut your leisure time short to tend to someone else's mistake, especially on the same day. Here's to better luck tomorrow, to finish on a high note!
