It is an absolutely gorgeous day today. Mid-70's, sunny, nice breeze. Exactly the kind of day I had in mind when I decided to do my weekly lunch in the park. And, being Tuesday, that's exactly where I am now.
I've missed the past couple of weeks. Two weeks ago I had covid, and last week was one of the biggest conglomerations of cluster-fuckery that I've had to deal with in a long time (maybe a future post, maybe not - haven't decided that one). This week so far has been ok, and I was really looking forward to this. Not much going on at work, perfect weather, lunch was great...
But...
FUCKING YELLOWJACKETS!!!
Granted, it is August, and this is the time of year when they start to become more of an annoyance. We've been really spoiled this year - before today I've only seen three. But they're out in force now. Still not overly aggressive, but enough to give me a reminder that the next 6-8 weeks will just keep getting worse and worse.
I'll probably give it one more week, but I have a feeling my days of dining al fresco are coming to an end - or at least a hiatus.
But for now, it's still a beautiful day, and I'm enjoying it. =]
