The "joys" of crafting...

I've been working on a new crochet blanket for the past month. This morning as I was nearing the next colour change, I wasn't sure if I was going to get to the end of the last row. Turns out I was about 3-4 yards short. I wasn't about to go out and buy another ball for just 4 yards, and I'm sure it wouldn't be too noticeable if that section was a half inch narrower than the rest (even though it would bug the hell out of me). Ultimately, I decided to frog that last row and move on.

But then something else caught my eye.

I was folding the blanket accordion style, and I noticed that the two sides weren't lining up. So I spread it out, folded it in half, and there it was, plain as day...

When I changed from colour 2 to 3, my tension started getting tighter. And I could clearly see the one edge start to taper inward. That carried on all the way through colour 3 and 4 - and now the end of section 4 is 2" shorter than it should be.

I never even thought to check once in a while as I was working. Now I have to pull apart the past 2 weeks of work and do it all over again. Can't leave it as it is - it looks ridiculous. Can't try to patch it - it would look even more ridiculous.  Nothing left to do but frog, frog, frog.

Oh well. Sometimes things like that just happen.

Nooo :( I'm sorry you had to lose all that work! At least you're going forward knowing that it'll be much improved.
