How?
How am I 50?
Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining. It simply baffles me that half a century has gone by already (Wow. Saying "half a century" makes it seem so much worse than it is).
I was a kid in the 70's. Wide collar shirts, plaid fabrics, and a haircut that would make the Beetles proud.
My formidable years were in the 80's. High school, junior sports, and heavy metal music.
I became an adult in the 90's. Jobs, university, and setting out on my own.
The 00's brought career, and a significant other to share my life with.
The 10's started with recovery from recession, but ended with losses of the family members who were closest to me throughout my life.
And here we are in the 20's, which has, so far, been largely dominated by a global event none of us ever imagined we would experience.
What does today hold? Not much, really. I've never been one to celebrate this day of the year. But I certainly will enjoy the time I spend with family and friends today. =]
