It's just an x-ray and ultrasound, so it shouldn't take long. Heck, the last time I had an ultrasound to look for a hernia, the technician actually told me as she was doing the test what she was seeing (unofficially of course since she wasn't a doctor).
And as for frustrations, that's basically the norm when dealing with the Canadian health care system. We may not like it, but eventually we get used to it.
