2023 Goals - Second Time's the Charm?...
At the beginning of 2022, I decided to follow in so many others' footsteps, and I made a list of goals. Much of it was related to personal health, because I was unhappy with the condition I had allowed myself to fall into. And for a while I was doing very well - until the end of April when everything went to shit.
Work was the initial thing that got me off track, and after a few weeks, even though I had all the intentions in the world of starting things up again, I simply could not get motivated (once I began believing my own excuses, I knew I was sunk). Before I knew it, the rest of the year had slipped away.
And now, here we are at the start of 2023. After taking a critical look at my goals from last year, and taking some other things into consideration, I think I've got a good starting point for this coming year.
Weekly post on DW... Welcome to my weekly post! Like last year, it will be on Wednesdays. Unlike last year, it will be a more general format (not solely focused on giving goal updates), which I think will help me to stay interested in keeping it going.
Sleep... A decent amount of nightly sleep is still something that's eluding me, so this one will get a lot of attention. The goal is a minimum of 5 hours a night, and tracking will include explanations for every night the goal is missed.
Exercise... I've scaled this back a bit, from 5 days a week to 4. Looking back, almost every week last year had a missed day in it, which tells me that 5 wasn't a realistic goal at all.
Other Personal... Same as last year. These are things I'm keeping track of but not making public.
Reading... I currently have this as 1 book per month, but I think that will get revised at some point - probably to "__ hours per week/month". I'm not a particularly fast reader, and I really want this to be more of a leisure activity.
Crafting... This wasn't a goal last year, but I did end up doing a lot of it and I definitely want to stay with it. The goal is to spend time 2 days a week on some sort of craft project. Some more crochet will be in there, as well as new endeavors such as macrame and painting.
As I said, this is a starting point - I fully expect changes within these items, as well as new items to be added. But for me, I know I need to start out on a smaller scale or else risk getting overwhelmed and not even getting off the ground.
Wish me luck! =]

I do plan to continue sharing the various projects I take on. The posts may not be as in-depth as they were for my blanket projects, but we'll see how it goes.
